Food therapy sessions provide a low-pressure, fun sensory experience that can help children explore sensory preferences. Following the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) approach, this evidence-based program helps children with a limited diet to become comfortable and confident trying new foods!
Tracy Davies, Nutritionist, Be Well Nourishment
Tracy provides nutritional support to children and adolescents using evidence-based and practical nutritional advice that best suits their specific needs and abilities. Working alongside parents and caregivers to provide a better understanding of their child’s nutritional requirements. Food therapy sessions aim to provide children with the knowledge, skills and strategies to build confidence around food, establish regular nutritious mealtimes and to raise confident eaters.
Tracy is passionate about supporting families in making smart nutrition choices and offers expertise in:
Assessment
An initial consultation is recommended for all new clients starting at Be Well Nourishment and typically involves meeting with both the parent and child, discussing primary health concerns and gathering a brief medical and developmental history.
Tracy will conduct a thorough assessment and work with parents to develop an individualised treatment program that is specific to your child’s needs.
Feeding Therapy
The type, frequency and duration of nutrition sessions is tailored to children’s specific needs. Treatment may include clinic-based food therapy sessions, parent only sessions, or home-based visits. Treatment may also include activities or exercises to do at home, and referral to and/or liaison with other health professionals.
