At Ready Set Speech, Erin Ward is currently providing speech pathology services for children aged 18 months – 8 years.
Speech Pathology can be recommended for a child when:
A Speech Pathology assessment typically involves meeting with you and your child, talking about your primary concerns and gathering a brief medical and developmental history. Assessments at Ready Set Speech always involve play. Play is essential for getting to know a child and ensuring they feel comfortable in the therapy environment. This may include floor-based activities such as pretend play, board games, looking at books, as well as more structured ‘table top’ activities and assessments.
An assessment is recommended for all new clients starting at Ready Set Speech.
Following your child’s assessment, Erin will work with you to develop a therapy plan that is specific to your child. The type of therapy, frequency and duration of therapy is individual to each child and their family circumstances. Treatment may include clinic-based sessions, parent only sessions, childcare or school visits. Erin offers a range of evidence-based treatment approaches which can be offered during in-clinic appointments and via Telehealth. A referral to another allied health professional (Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Audiologist) or a medical professional (Paediatrician or Ear, Nose, Throat specialist) may also be recommended.
